I am excited to see all of the second graders! We will be doing all kinds of fun things. The first thing: each student will construct a scrapbook page about themselves to show the class. We will be working hard on reading and math everyday. Rain forests will be the science theme to begin the year. Students may want to bring a water bottle to put on their desk on hot days. Please speak to your children about Stranger Danger so they are aware of what to do if approached by a stranger. We will talk about it at school also. |

My name is Francine Chamra. I have taught at North Mahaska for many years and have enjoyed every one of them. I am teaching children of the students that I taught in the past and it is great fun to reconnect with them.
My husband, John, and I live just north of Rose Hill on an acreage. Our children are grown. I am kept busy with plants and really wonderful grandchildren.
I enjoy working with the Green Team, a group of students who help me plant and maintain flowers around the elementary building. A am also proud of the Outdoor Classroom where classes can go to learn about our environment.
